Everybody Counts week is starting October 3rd! Everybody Counts is designed to teach the children about various disabilities and how children with these disabilities cope with them. It also helps children understand that they don’t have to be the best at everything to still be worthwhile and important. The goal is understanding; to help everyone know the person behind the disability and to create a climate in which we all feel at ease with one another’s differences. As a grand finale to the Everybody Counts week, 5th graders can stay after school till 5:45 on Thursday, October 6, to watch the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, “Front of the Class”, which is an educational movie, showing how a child with a disability overcomes his challenges and grows up to be a successful adult. 5th gradersshould receive their permission slips through backpack mail today.

Have you heard the news? The Ivy Hill Box Tops/Labels Committee is running an all school contest this year. Our goal is to raise $2,211 (that’s our school’s address). If we meet our goal, our fearless leader, Ms. Csensich, will camp out overnight on the Ivy Hill school grounds! This is a very aggressive goal – about double what we usually earn – so we need everyone’s help. Ask family, neighbors and friends to help us make Ms. Csensich a happy camper! Top ten contributing families will have a chance to earn a prize. Thanks for your help!

Get your pictures in the yearbook! The Yearbook Staff will begin working on the yearbook, so please submit your pictures from the first day of school, field day 2011, fun run, ice cream social, and welcome picnic no later than September 30th. Our photographers can’t be everywhere, so help us get as many photos as possible to make the yearbook great. To submit photos online go to:https://images.memoryebooks.com/login. If it does not automatically log you into the site, enter username: 400113457 and password: ivyeagles. It’s easy! Submit your photos today!
