Did you know that the average American school-age child throws away 67 pounds of lunch waste a year!  Even though Earth Week has passed, The ENVIRONMENTAL COMMITTEE wants you to make every day earth day by sending a waste free lunch to school.  Two easy ways to do this are by using durable, long-lasting containers that will last years rather than disposable sandwich wraps, chip bags, fruit salad or pudding cups and using a high-quality water bottle to bring a drink instead of a disposable container (like a juice box because most juice boxes cannot even be recycled due to the inseparability of the cardboard, plastic, and aluminum foil used in the product.).   Let’s reduce that lunch waste to zero!

I Fives go to:

Louann Benbow for all her hard work compiling Friday Packets for the past two years.  You did a great job!  Thank you!

Colleen Wytmar and Carla Kim for organizing the final Dining for Dollars of the school year.  And to all the families who participated in this month’s Dining for Dollars and ordered from Jersey Mike’s!

The Video and Music Productions Committee, Amy Beaton and Andra Morgan and the  parent volunteers who helped record the Kindergarten Spring Fling Sing! shows this week.

Thanks to Rose Trajano for compiling all of the articles and creating the Ivy Inklings online this year – great job!
