This week, students were reminded that EVERYBODY COUNTS!   Students in each grade level experienced what it feels like to have a disability. They experienced what it is like to have difficulty seeing, hearing, picking up objects, walking and reading.  Most importantly, students learned that in spite of their challenges, kids with disabilities are still just that….kids.  They feel, laugh, have fun, and just like them, they want to fit in.

CONGRATULATIONS IVY HILL!  We raised $1000 in BOX TOPS!  Thank you all for helping us reach our goal!  We hope the children enjoy the basketballs, playground balls AND dance DVDs.  Questions?  Contact Darcy Moder at darcymoder@hotmail.com.

Save the date – Ivy Hill’s EDUCATION FAIR is January 17th.  Voting for this year’s theme took place today and the winning theme will be announced next week.  Registration materials will be available in next week’s Friday Packet.

Please join ABC/25.  This is our school district’s all volunteer, non-profit organization created to raise funds for innovative projects and programs benefiting all District 25 students. Ivy Hill will receive $2500 in incentive grant money if  25% of our families and staff join.  This money will go directly to enhance the education of our children at Ivy Hill! If we do not reach 25% membership, we will not receive this money!  Currently, 17% of our families have joined. Go to the Foundation’s website, http://sd25.revtrak.net/tek9.asp?pg=products&grp=20 to register.  You can pay on-line or send a check in your child’s backpack.
