PTA HAPPENINGS: 

Parent Volunteers Needed!  Morning sunshine, fresh air, smiling faces – all perks for volunteering with helping direct traffic during morning drop-off.  Volunteers are needed from 8:40-9:05 am to assist with the safety of the students exiting cars and moving traffic along safely and efficiently.  Volunteers are needed for one week shifts.  If able to volunteer, please contact Jennifer Baumeister (trustinprovidence@gmail.com).

Save the DatePicture Day is coming up on September 10th!  Look for order forms to come home next week.

The first PTA General Meeting is on Tuesday, September 11th at 7:00 p.m.  Pizza will be served and you will have an opportunity to learn more about the different committees in PTA.  ALL PARENTS ARE WELCOME!

We’re off and ‘running‘ for the new school year!  The Ivy Hill Running Club will be meeting Thursday, September 6 and 13.  To sign up, please complete the attached Running Club permission slip and return it to the office by Wednesday, September 5.  See the online Friday Packet for a full description of the club’s activities.  Please consider volunteering for the Running Club – No running experience is necessary.  Thank you to our volunteers who helped with our first run of the season yesterday.  Save the date for the Ivy Hill Fun Run on Thursday, September 20, 2012.  More details will be coming in upcoming Friday Packets!  Questions?  Contact Judy Newman at cubs2win1@att.net or Diane Liigsoo at dliigsoo.ivyhill@hotmail.com .

School Supplies Committee ChairsCindy Stefani and Darla Mueller and all the parents who volunteered to help get the supplies organized for the first day of school – Sherri Kontos, Louann Benbow, Laura Golden, Chris O’Doherty, Lynette Nimmo, Michelle Gledhill, Annette Pater, Cassy Mrowicki, and some student volunteers.

Welcoming Committee Chairs Patti Krinninger, Kelly Nix, Swati Khanna and Lily Askew—for organizing a fun and successful Welcome Picnic for all new Ivy Hill families.  Thanks to all the parent volunteers who came out to help welcome all our new students and their families!

Co-PTA PresidentsCassy Mrowicki and Denise Schreiner, for organizing the Ice Cream Social last Friday!  We had our best turn out this year and everyone had a great time visiting, playing, and eating ice cream!  Thanks to all of our parent, teacher and staff volunteers who came out to help set-up, clean-up and scoop the ice cream!

Don Sowa for donating the ice cream and whip cream we all enjoyed at the social!
