Don’t throw away those old broken holiday string lights! We will again be collecting and recycling used string lights this year. A collection box will be in the commons November 26th through mid January. Keep those broken string lights out of our landfills by recycling them instead!
In honor of America Recycles Day, Ivy Hill will be participating in the Trex Plastic Bag Recycling Challenge. From now until Earth Day, we will be collecting plastic bags and wraps for recycling. Trex’s mission for this challenge is to educate students about the importance of plastic bag recycling and keeping plastic out of our landfills. The school that collects the most plastic bags in our area will receive a bench made of Trex. The items that can be recycled are grocery bags, bread bags, case over-wrap, dry cleaning bags, newspaper sleeves, ice bags, pellet bags, ziploc and other reclosable food bags, produce bags, bubble wrap, salt bags, and cereal bags. So instead of throwing these items away, send them to school to be recycled!
