Running Club had a great fall season that culminated with the 5th Annual Fun Run last week. The students raised $380 for Special Olympics Illinois. Prior to the run, Dan Conley, representing the charity, led our students in the Special Olympics oath, ” Let me win. But if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.” Everyone enjoyed the refreshments donated by Wheeling Auto Center, Mariano’s Fresh Market, Harvest Fresh, Marc Palano and Target. At the finish line, each runner received a medal from PTA and a Special Olympics O-Nit donated by O-Nits. The Fun Run was a huge success and our volunteers were a big part of that. Look in the Friday Packet in the spring for information about Spring Running Club and mark your calendar for the the ABC/25 Just Move It! Challenge – April 13, 2013.
